Who we are

Who we are

Greg

I am a Japanese-to-English technical translator and have been creating easy-to-understand manuals, specifications, and other documents for manufacturers since 2003. To jump start my career, I enrolled in an exclusive one-night-a-week translation course for native speakers of English in Tokyo when I lived in Nagoya. I took a $150 bullet train ride to Tokyo in the afternoon and then an 8-hour trip back home by overnight bus. After the 6-month course was over, I was broke and exhausted but started my first in-house translation job soon after. After working at several manufacturers in Japan, I am very familiar with the competitive pressures that international manufacturers are under and offer quick deliveries at reasonable rates. Since returning to Canada in 2012, I have been introducing unique Japanese products to the world as a freelance translator. Together with my new partner, I am excited to provide you with even greater value. Use the form below to inquire how we can help you share your products with the world. I have used Memsource for over ten years.

Saeko

I started as a freelance translator in 2021 after translating at the Canadian branch office of a Japanese company for over three years. Because I worked as an industrial designer, I am very familiar with manufacturing-product moulding and material characteristics. This knowledge is useful when I translate product engineering documents and client specifications and standards. I also worked in the design industry for many years and designed printed materials, packages, websites, and digital products. I also have successfully lead many projects as a design director and project manager, which taught me the importance of public relations and publicity in business. Luckily, I got a chance to work in media PR for the Singapore Pavilion at Aichi EXPO 2005, which was the first time that I worked in English. Since immigrating to Canada from Japan, I have earned a certificate of Enhanced Language Training and studied North American business. I like outdoor activities such as camping and hiking, as well as making accessories and wearing a Kimono. I made and maintain this website.
